I don’t know about you but I am a book junkie. Our family ends up buying a dozen or more books each month. If you keeping doing that for a while, they add up. Maintaining a book catalog in those situations is a very smart idea. After all, nobody wants to lose track of their books and buy the titles they already own. Besides, if you tend to lend your books to others, you want to make sure you get them back. BookBuddy is just the app you need to catalog your books.

BookBuddy lets you add the books you already own by scanning their barcodes or searching through Google Books. Users can create categories to organize their books under. The app not only keeps track of the books you already own but also saves you time managing and growing your wishlist. Planning to lend books to your family members and friends? BookBuddy can track that. It also lets you rate books and set a status for each title.

BookBuddy saves you time figuring out how many books in your library you have not read yet. The app is social media friendly too, giving you the chance to share your reading status with the world through social networks.

Building a killer book catalog takes time, money, and effort. Thanks to BookBuddy, you can go about doing that in a more productive fashion. It keeps track of the books you have and their status so you can focus more on reading them and getting more awesome books.

Forgetting someone’s birthday is never nice. That’s more painful if that someone is very close to you. What’s more embarrassing is giving a person the same gift more than once. That’s why Birthday Cal is so useful. It is a nice little app that keeps track of all the important birthdays you have to remember. It not only reminds you of those important dates, it also tells you what gifts you have gotten your contacts in the past.

Birthday Cal looks pretty decent. It keeps track of birth dates and tells you the ones coming up next. What’s nice is you can track how old each contact will be with their birthday coming up. The advance notifications give you the chance to prepare for the important dates coming up with enough time at hand.

You don’t have to enter the dates into this app manually. You can import them from your address-book. Every time you give someone a gift, just record it in the app for future references. In short, Birthday Cal is a pretty nice app to have to avoid forgetting the birthdays of the important people in your life.

In a perfect world, none of us would have to fill out forms for any purpose. In this reality, you will have to do so for tax, employment, and other purposes. Filling out paper forms and scanning them to send to the other party is not convenient at all. Type on PDF is one of many apps you can download to fill out PDF documents on your iPhone or iPad device.

Type on PDF works on your iPhone, iPad, and even iPod Touch. It lets you type or write on your PDF forms. You get multiple pen colors and text sizes to fill out forms more conveniently. Find yourself filling out the same forms over and over gain? Type On PDF supports document templates.

Type on PDF is fully interactive. You can pan/zoom and insert images from your clipboard or library. Exporting to DropBox is a lifesaver of a feature to have. This tool works in both viewing modes.

Type on PDF is one of the best apps in its category. It is quite versatile and makes manipulation PDF documents a piece of cake. A nice tool to have for anyone who has to deal with forms on a regular basis.

Business professionals have to scan documents from time to time. Having a decent scanner in your office is necessary especially if you plan to digitize all your important documents. But sometimes you may need to scan documents when you don’t have access to your expensive office scanner. That’s where Scan Pages comes into plan. It is a free iPhone application that turns your iPhone into a mobile scanner.

Scan Pages has a quite simple user interface. Just put down your document the right way and start scanning. Scan Pages organizes your images right on your iPhone. Your files are stored on your mobile device in PDF form. You can store them in GoogleDocs, Evernote, or even Dropbox. Sharing by e-mail is possible too.

You do not need to register for an online account to get started with this app. It does not have a very complicated interface which helps. Nice little app for mobile scan jobs.

iPhone has become a smarter device with every generation. It is a life saver for business professionals. iPhone 4S with Siri has shown the true potential of smartphones. TouchBase Calendar is another smart app that can make things easier for iPhone owners. It is a smart calendar app that keeps track of your appointments and tells you who you will be meeting and where.

TouchBase Calendar is more than a simple appointment manager for iPhone. It grabs all the relevant information from your iPhone calendar and saves you time staying on the right track. When you add an appointment to your calendar, TouchBase grabs your information and shows you where and who you will be meeting. It also gives you the option to keep the other parties updated on your status.

TouchBase Calendar has an elegant and intuitive interface. The developers have gone out of their way to make this app work as painlessly as possible. TouchBase has you covered even if you don’t know where you are going. Running late? Letting others know could not get any easier. I like the fact that it works with MobileMe, Google, CalDAV, and other popular types of calendars.

TouchBase Calendar is a brilliant calendar well worth picking up for anyone with a ton of events to keep up on a regular basis. It can act as your personal assistant and keep you on the right track at all times. When paired with Siri, the sky’s the limit for it.

Many of us use RSS feed readers such as Google Reader to keep up with our favorite blogs. Not everyone enjoys using Google Reader’s interface on iPhone though. There are plenty of other RSS readers around that can make iPhone users more productive going through stories and blog posts on the go. Newstream is an attractive RSS client that helps you make better sense of your feeds on your phone.

Newstream has an attractive interface for a mobile RSS reader. It supports RSS and ATOM formats. It grabs your feeds and makes them look like a modern newspaper. Adding new feeds to it is pretty simple. Users can easily see how many unread stories they have in their incoming box. The app is social media friendly which helps.

Newstream has a lot of potential but is not perfect by any means. For starters, it did crash on us a few times. Adding folder management to this app would be pretty neat. We would love for it to support syncing with third-party and cloud-based services. Newstream has the looks and is a good effort by the developers. It does need more features and better stability though.

Let’s face it. We all procrastinate from time to time. Putting off today’s things for tomorrow will set you back over the long run. But in some situations, you may have no choice. Do it (Tomorrow) is an elegant to-do list manager that focuses on tasks you have planned for today and tomorrow. The developers behind Do It have gone out of their way to make this tool simple to use. Postponing your tasks for a day can get any simpler.

Do it (Tomorrow) is a fast to-do application. The app’s interface feels like a pocketbook. Checking off and postponing existing tasks is a piece of cake. This tool works on your iPhone and iPad. You can sync your tasks across multiple devices which is very helpful. Your items can be accessed on tomorrow.do.

Do it (Tomorrow) does not have many bells and whistles. It is an intuitive to-do list manager that makes adding new items and postponing existing tasks for a short-while quite easy. Being able to turn off sounds would be nice. I would probably not use this for a complex project. But Do It is more than capable of handling your daily tasks.

Life can get quite hectic if you are tackling multiple professional projects while having to deal with personal challenges. Unfortunately, there are only 24 hours a day. Time management is key for those who lead hectic lives. Tools such as to-do lists can make you more productive and keep you on the right track with your chores. ListBook for iPhone is more than a to-do list manager. It handles all types of lists and stays out of your way.

ListBook can handle as many lists as you have. Adding new lists and items to those lists is a piece of cake. Once you are done with items in your lists, you can just check them off. There are multiple ways to view an overview of your tasks (by pinching or via a button). ListBook can handle shopping, to-do, or any other type of list you can think of.

There was a time when people used to rely on paper notebooks to handle their to-do lists. Thanks to apps such as ListBook, you can do that on your phone. The app looks pretty elegant and is very fast. It may not have too many bells and whistles but does what it promises well.

Most of us use our iPhones to browse all kinds of websites on the go. iOS comes with a pretty decent standard browser. But that is limited in some ways. Dolphin Browser is an intuitive browser that lets users interact with their sites and navigate their way through them easier. It offers tabbed browsing too.

Dolphin Browser has an elegant design. It is not only fast but makes you more productive. Just like desktop apps such as Firefox or Chrome, you can keep track of multiple tabs in this app. It also supports gestures. You can add new gestures and draw signs to interact with sites. Dolphin Browser has two sidebars, one for bookmarks and another for tools.

There was a time when people used paper notebooks to organize their thoughts, keep track of their ideas, and manage their lists. Those days are long gone. iPhone apps such as ScatterBrain enable their users to take notes on their smartphone. ScatterBrain is elegant and intuitive, allowing its users to organize their ideas in a more productive fashion.

ScatterBrain is designed to stay out of your way as you take notes and capture ideas on your iPhone. It is versatile enough to capture ideas, handle lists, and much more. Adding new entries to it is pretty straight forward. Color groups make it easier to organize your thoughts. You can set up reminders as you need them.

The search feature in this app is fast and saves you time finding what you need. The interface is designed to show you more. Users can type in landscape mode. Sharing via email and SMS is nice too.

ScatterBrain is a quality idea organizer that makes you more productive taking notes on the go. It looks pretty decent and is quite fast. It is free at the time of this writing.
