Annihilation Arena is one of those addictive games that keeps you entertained with a whole lot of action and combat. You are pretty much attacked from all directions from enemy fighters, and your goal is to out-shoot and outlast them. It’s a kill or get killed game that should satisfy your hunger for action and destruction!

Annihilation Arena is one of the best action games I have personally played on my iPhone mainly due to the fact the game is very challenging without taking any fun out of the whole experience. You have access to eight different weapons (e.g. Flamethrower and Laser) which you can use to disable and destroy your enemies. One of the most fun things about this game is trying these different weapons on your enemies. Who knew blowing things up could be so much fun. Best of all, you also get to fight in three fun arenas that will test your gaming credentials.

I was very impressed with this game’s graphics. Once you take a look at this game, you are going to realize how much effort the developers put forth to develop this application. The game controls are fun as you get to control your movement and your gun with your fingers. You essentially get two pads. One controls the movement, and the other moves your aiming. So it’s better to play this game with both hands. The music is fun too though I recommend you start without it to get a handle on what the game is all about. The game can be challenging, and you don’t want to go up in the smokes by being careless.

All in all, Annihilation Arena is one heck of an action game for iPhone. It’s very addictive, and it always give you an excuse to go back and try to do better. The graphics are great and getting to blow up enemies is always fun.  I would like to see more arenas and even more innovative weapons if possible. But as it is, this is one killer action game that you’ve got to try.

iDodge is an addictive space game that involves you trying to fight off defense systems to get to Jupiter. The game very much reminds me of the old Atari days, except maybe better graphics. You can dodge objects by using your special time slowdown ability or your powerups.

There are 40 levels with this game, and you have 5 challenge missions. You can claim the bragging rights by saving your best moments on this phone. And you can gain medals if you put a valiant effort forward.

iDodge is known as one of the top accelerometer based applications. I didn’t find this game to be difficult to get a handle on, but the “very hard” level can be challenging. You can keep going and going with iDodge.

I don’t know about you, but I am a sucker for Tank games. I have seen very sophisticated tank games on the iPhone, but you don’t have to get a super game to have fun on the iPhone. Crazy Tanks by bootant.com is a simple iPhone game that involves you shooting at other tanks and picking up goodies.

The game comes in 9 levels, and levels are divided in 3 stages. Over all, the game is very simple, but very fun at the same time. If you were a fan of Atari games, you are going to love this game.

Talk about need for speed on the moon. Low Gravity Racer is one of those iPhone games that can keep you up for hours. I am personally a big fan of Arcade games, so I am a bit biased here, but Low Gravity Racer has something for everyone. The game has fast visuals, which should be fun for speed crazy gamers. And let’s not forget that it’s a race, which brings your competitive side out. And you can shoot missiles which makes the game even more fun.

The graphics of the game are stunning, and this game can make waiting for things a very fun experience. This is more a shooter experience than a racing game. But that’s more of a positive than a negative. Racing games get old after a while, but shooter-racers last longer. Overall, if you are into Arcade games, you are going to love this game. If you are looking for something slow, look elsewhere.

I don’t know what it is about fight games, but I just love games that involve bombing targets and fighting fighter planes. I guess I am still living in my old Atari world.

Chopper is one of those addictive games that you simply can’t get enough of (at least I can’t). The goal here is to complete missions and fight off tanks and bazooka equipped fighters (how cool is that?) in the process. You get your bombs and your machine guy, and you can go crazy with them like I do.

Chopper comes in 20 levels. As you can guess, the levels get quite difficult when you get close to finishing the game. But you don’t have to finish the game in one try. You can save (and auto-save) your progress so you won’t have to start from the scratch again. I think the game has a great potential. It’d be fun to get more options for weapons or unlocking bonus items. But at $0.99, it is still well worth it.

Flight simulation is one of the most popular gaming categories on any platform. Armageddon Squadron by Polarbit brings this genre to the iPhone platform. The game brings memories of the World War II, if you are actually old enough to remember ( I am not!). But the planes and bombers that you have belong to that era.

Your goal with this game to bomb the heck out of targets on the ground, and at the same time defend your position against other planes. You get a machine gun, bombs, torpedoes, and rockets (my favorite). The graphics are stunning, and the game is very entertaining. But this flight simulator is not for the faint of heart. The game can get frustrating as you struggle to go through enemies. I know that doesn’t usually discourage me, but some folks do get frustrated. It’s a tough but entertaining game. If you decide to go with Armageddon Squadron, I do encourage you to get started with time trials.
