ToonCamera lets you apply cool real-time effects to your camera. You can record video and snap photos in cartoon mode. ToonCamera applies cartoon and art effects to your old photos and videos as well. Multiple effects are provided which is very nice. You get to customize your effects before sharing them on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

ToonCamera works on most iPhones, the new iPod Touch, and iPad 2. In order to produce the best work, you probably want to use this on an iPhone 4S. Still, this is one heck of an app to make your photos look more special. We would love to see more cool effects added to this app though.

iPhone’s camera may not be the greatest for taking pictures during night time. Night Fast Snap is a simple tool that lets you snap multiple photos on your phone and apply simple effects to improve their quality. Night Fast Snap has a simple UI. It does offer light balancing during night to improve the quality of your shots.

The stable mode is pretty useful. If you choose to keep it on, your phone will only take snaps when it is steady. This tool does have a RGB board you can use to optimize your night photos.

Those of you who have had trouble taking quality photos at night are going to enjoy Night Fast Snap. It won’t make you a master photographer but can improve the quality of your photos dramatically.

Photopular Pro is essentially a Flickr explorer on steroids. It not only shows you recent activity and photos shared by your contacts, it keeps track of top photos from Flickr Explore. The app does support Flickr PRO, so you can keep up with your stats in this application.

Photopular Pro allows you to figure out who has commented on your work and added your photos to their favorites. The interface looks clean and is very responsive. The app does have the tools and information you can use to add more value for your visitors on your photo-blog.

Image Blender allows you to blend two images into one. It is a cool effect that can be used to enhance your images or create your own filters. Multiple blending options are supported which is nice.

I liked the fact that one does not have to be a photo genius to start using Image Blender. Just load one picture in the left box, another in the right box, and use the slider to apply your effect. Save your work at full resolution and you are done.

The sky’s the limit with Image Blender. The quality of your work does come down to the images you decide to blend together. This is another fun photo effect application for iPhone.

Here is how the app works. It uses a patented technology to lighten up each pixel in your images and make your image look as if it was taken with flash present. You are essentially introducing a flash effect to your images, and in most cases that should be enough to improve the quality of your dark pictures dramatically.

Take the below picture. It may be a bit dark. By adding the flash effect, you improve the quality of the image accordingly. Now keep in mind that not every image is going to realize the same level of improvement, but from what I have seen, the app does a decent job improving those dark photos.

Ultimately, if you have taken a few dark pictures and want to improve their quality, Camera Flash comes in handy. It’s very easy to use and gets the job done.

Light by Digital Film Tools is a great little iPhone application that allows you to add light to those dark photos. A lot of new photographers make the mistake of taking pictures without getting the lighting part right. With Light, you can brighten your pictures and optimize the lighting and shadow on your photographs.

Gobos are used by professional photographers to enhance pictures, and with Light you can apply Gobos to your entire image or your selected areas. The following categories are available:

• Breakups
• Foliage
• Lights
• Sky
• Windows

You can not only control light brightness and blurring, but you can also adjust light position, rotation, and size. You can also use the position slider to choose where to put the light in landscape or portrait mode.

All this can be done using Photoshop, but why would you want to use Photoshop when you can do it all on your iPhone. Light is a great little app that addresses a very real challenge for newbie photographers.

I don’t know about you, but I use my iPhone a lot to take pictures. The quality is not great. That’s a given. However, there are many phones out there with worse quality cameras, so I don’t complain.
