The world of domaining can be quite lucrative for those who know their way in it. It is very similar to the field of real estate as domainers focus on acquiring top quality online real estate. Finding those one word domains for cheap is not that easy anymore. But tools such as DomainView can give you a better idea about the new opportunities in this field.

In DomainView, Verisign has developed a tool that shows you what words are being used in the most recently registered domains. It offers you a tag cloud, so you can easily figure out which words (and niches) are popular.

DomainView focuses on .com and .net domains. You can view registered domains in real time or use the slider under “Configuration” tab to choose a longer time-frame for your analysis.

DomainView won’t find you one word domains. But it can show you what others are doing in the domaining world so you can keep up. This is a very cool brainstorming tool for domainers.
