Mobcast is a Facebook application that brings both worlds together and lets you connect with your friends and colleagues on the go. And it all happens thanks to Facebook, so you won’t have to join a new social network to use this app.

The app is pretty straight forward. It’s integrated with Facebook and gives you access to your friend list on the go. If your friends happen to be running Mobcast on their phones, you’ll get to see them on your map. The app automatically updates your location, so your friends know where to find you on their maps.

What I love about this application is the fact that it facilitates face to face meetings. It’s one thing to connect with people over social networks. It’s a whole other thing to get connected and meet someone in person. With Mobcast you won’t have any excuse.

You’ve got to love the Stealth Mode in this app. That allows you to pick and choose those who you want to see your location. So you can always avoid those annoying acquaintances. Mobcast has a lot of potential and the developers promise to bring the app to other platforms. It would be nice to be able to connect with friends via Mobcast regardless of the platform their cell phones run on. For a free app, Mobcast gives you a whole lot of value.
