I’ve got to admit. I am a big fan of soccer, and I have been searching for a decent soccer application that would let me play my favorite sport on my iPhone. That’s until I found 3D Penalty Shootout. 3D Penalty Shootout is a stunning soccer application that lets you play soccer shootouts all day. The game is all about making penalty kicks and saving them. You get to play the World Cup or just practice matches against some of the best teams from around the globe, and you can play it in single or multi-player competition modes.

The graphics in this game are just stunning, putting 3D Penalty Shootout easily among the elite iPhone games. You can choose from 32 national teams, and you can play the game in classic or touch mode. I personally had much more success with the classic mode though a few of my colleagues prefer the touch mode.

When I first saw this app, it reminded of top soccer games made for PC. The game play is simple but putting those kicks away can be challenging. And saving them can be even more challenging if you are unlucky. I also like the fact that you go to one shot sudden death mode after your first 5 shots. That makes the game even more exciting as if you miss one shot you are probably going to lose.

All in all, 3D Penalty Shootout is one of the best soccer games made for the iPhone platform. It’s a very simple game but is so addictive.
