TodayRemote: Control Your Music from Your Mac
Many iPhone/iPad owners also have Mac computers at home. You certainly don’t need a Mac to enjoy your experience with iOS devices. But Macs do play well with other Apple devices. For instance, you can use apps like TodayRemote to control music on your Mac computer. This universal app supports multiple Macs.
TodayRemote is developed to let you control your Mac music from iOS Notification Center. It supports iTunes, Spotify, Rdio, Vox, and VLC at this time. You can play/pause, go to the next/previous song, and control volume. Your computers need to have an app installed and be connected to the same WiFi network as your iOS device though.
We did have a couple of issues pairing our computer with the app, but when it works, it is quite useful. You can try the app for free but the Pro version is available for $1.99.
