MapQuest Vibe

In the past few months, we have seen plenty of applications that aim to help iPhone owners find hot businesses in their local area. MapQuest Vibe is another one of those apps. It is developed to help users find places worth doing business with in their local area. The concept should be very familiar for those of you who are already using services such as Yelp.

MapQuest Vibe covers over 27000 cities and 50000+ neighborhoods. Users can search through businesses by category. You can filter results based on what’s near you on in your neighborhood. Each business listing comes all the relevant information you need to get started. You also get to affect the rankings by rating the businesses you have tried.

MapQuest Vibe does let you compare your neighborhood’s score to others close to your area. Interested in figuring out how your neighborhood ranks in terms of walkability or popularity? MapQuest Vibe has you covered. The interface is quite attractive and easy to use. We would love for this app to cover more businesses though. That is the main weakness of this application at this point. The concept is solid but the app needs some work to be competitive against other apps that serve the same purpose.
