Those of you who have played around with photo editing suites such as Photoshop in the past probably know how powerful they are. They make enhancing photos and adding fun effects to them easy. But you don’t always need sophisticated tools to make your photos look more fun. Etchings for iPhone is a fun little app that turns your photos into works of art.

Etchings has 8 styles for you to play around with. You don’t need to know a whole lot about photo editing to get the most out of this application. Just choose the right effects and styles to prepare your work. Once you have created your work, you can share it on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The app offers a maximum resolution of 1200 by 1200 pixels. We are excited that the developers are thinking about offering higher resolutions in the future.

Etchings for iPhone has more than enough filters and styles to keep you busy for a while. We would love to see more cool effects added to the app. It could be more cloud-friendly too. The idea has a lot of potential though.
