YouTube for iOS

By  |

In case you have missed it, YouTube will not be included with iOS 6 by default. That means you are going to have other ways to start viewing its videos on your device right out of the box. The good news is Google has released a new YouTube app for iPhone that helps you get around that. The app does not have some of the limitations of its predecessor, which means you will be able to get your hands on more content on your device.

The new YouTube app has a pretty decent layout. It gives you access to all the content and producers you are following. It also makes discovering new videos to consume on your device a piece of cake. Official music videos are also included. You can find videos and new channels to follow via voice search. Of course, you can read comments, enable subtitles, and do a whole lot more while watching videos.

YouTube for iPhone lets you share the videos you find on Google+, Facebook, and Twitter. We are disappointed that the app is not native to iPad at this point. The AirPlay feature needs a bit of work as well. This version of YouTube is decent but feels a bit rushed.
