FlightView

Air travel may have gotten a bit more inconvenient with all the security check and rules that have been put into place at airports. But if you are planning to go from one side to the other side of the country, you have no other choice. The good news is, there are apps that can track upcoming and in-air flights and keep you on top of delays and cancellations too. FlightView is such an app.

FlightView makes air travel much more convenient. For starters, it tracks in-air flights and shows you the current radar weather. FlightView displays the current weather conditions at arrival and departure airports, so you can almost guess if there are going to be delays. I like the fact that FlightView can find alternative flight schedules between two cities. Having the option to view terminal, gate, and other useful information is a plus too.

By saving flight itineraries, you’ll have an easier time tracking flights and their statuses. Searching and saving flights (90 days in the future) is supported too. Of course, your flight is not the only thing you’ll have to worry about. That’s why the note feature (for car rental and hotel reservations) is so helpful.

It’d be nice if this app supported international flights. It is optimized for iOS4 and does perform well on iPhone 4. Better calendar integration would be nice too. FlightView may not save all your headaches at an airport, but it does make life easier for air travelers.
