Unread RSS Reader for iPhone

By  |

I admit, I still miss Google Reader. It was not the best looking tool around, but for a free tool, Google Reader offered a ton of useful features. Since it’s been gone, many other companies have tried to replace it. There are also plenty of iPhone and Android apps for reading RSS feeds. Unread happens to be a quality RSS reader that brings you full screen reading, so you can enjoy your favorite content in a more elegant fashion.

Unread helps you focus on the act of reading. It does not have distracting bells and whistles. The app offers gesture controls, so you can bring up options and interact with your content using simple gestures. The app has multiple themes for you to choose from (for daytime and night use). You are going to need an account with Feedbin, Feedly, Fever, NewsBlur, or FeedWrangler to get started.

Unread keeps your subscriptions up to date with background updating. It also lets you send articles to Instapaper, Pocket, Readability, Pinboard, and share on Twitter. Big thumbnails are available if you prefer. You also get VoiceOver support. You can try the app for under $5.
